Our Ministry Partners
Partners in Malawi
Laura and Mark Russel
partners since 2016
Mark and Laura met at a Bible College in their native England, were married in 2003 and spent the next 13 years involved in church leadership in the UK while continuing in their respective careers in accounting and social work. All the while, though, they knew some part of their call was linked to Africa. In 2009 they embarked upon their first trip to Malawi training rural church pastors, fell in love with the country, and have returned to Malawi every year since. To their surprise God made it very clear to them both that He wanted them to relocate to Malawi. They spent the next 2 years preparing, leaving their careers, selling their house, giving away their cars and belongings. In March 2016, Blantyre became their new home.
Mark and Laura write and deliver training to the pastors in the communities that Miqlat serves, help with the accounting, love investing in the facilitators and are about to launch discussion groups with the teenagers at the Hope Centers. Mark and Laura’s underlying passion for everyone they serve is that they gain personal revelation of their identity as children of God, receive inner healing and deliverance and are equipped to see God’s supernatural Kingdom come in Malawi.
US Support Staff: Volunteers
Miqlat is supported by an amazing team of volunteers in the United States who work together to organize our billing, communications, sponsorship, and other critical administrative tasks. Many of these volunteers come from Sonrise Christian Fellowship in Fallbrook, CA and Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church in Fair Oaks, CA. We could not do what we do if it were not for them and we are eternally grateful.
